Unexpectedly Impulse-Buying A Classic Mustang

I really haven’t been able to write on my site nearly as often as I’d planned, owing to how much I’ve been roped into helping my old man with his incredibly wacky midlife crisis. Okay, I guess it’s not as far gone as it could be. The thing is, how he showed up was to get himself dressed up like he was Fonzie or something, and come on over to my crib and tell me, in his jazziest dialect: “Put some shades on, dude, you and I are going out looking for some classic Ford Mustangs for sale. That’s right, buddy, I’m totally set to do this thing.”

Right then and there we were off to all of those weird vintage car places that I’m always mostly certain are not exactly legit, and I watch my crazy padre made out a check on the spot, for an alarmingly sparkly classic mustang. I have to admit, it’s one hell of a car. It sounded amazing as well.

Notice that I phrased that in the past tense. It had a great sound right up to the point that it stopped making any noises. My Dad says that it is just a easy fix and all he needs is the right part. Of course, it may not be as easy to get your hands on classic Ford Mustang parts as it was about a thousand years ago, but my Dad swears there’s a really sizable market for them in spite of their age. From what I’m told the nicest way to buy parts for 1966 Mustangs is by way of online auctions, because you can get them refurbished and often even brand new. They’re not necessarily available for a nominal fee, though… Get real, these are half-century old Ford Mustang parts.

Not the worst midlife crisis ever, I guess. It would’ve been worse if he’d gone and found a toupee.
