Eating Right for Weight Loss

Posted by Sarah on Jan 21, 2010 in Fine Articles

It seems as if each new day brings a new scientific study pointing towards the benefits of losing extra weight. When you couple with this the social pressure to lose weight you can see why so many people are interested in maintaining a healthy weight.

Health experts generally recommend eating a healthy and balanced diet as the best way to lose extra weight. So what exactly is a healthy diet? One potential ideal diet for losing weight should be made up of between 45% to 65% carbohydrates, 10% to 35% protein, and 20% to 35% fat.

When carbohydrates are broken down by the body they take on the form of glucose. Glucose sugar is the primary source of energy for the body. Somewhere in the region of 45% - 65% of your calories should be made up of carbohydrates.

Nearly all foods have some amount of carbohydrates, so your choices available is staggering. If you want wieght loss you should look towards more nutrient rich carbohydrate containing foods. Obvious examples are: fruits, vegetables, pulses and whole grains. Colas, fruit drinks, sweets and cookies do not contain any significant amount of nutrients - these are best avoided. These foods are often described as containing empty calories.

Proteins play an equally vital role in your body’s functions. Proteins are the single largest contributor to helping our immune system and hormonal systems function . They are also the essential building blocks for most of the bodies tissues, like the skin, the muscles and internal organs. In the same way as carbohydrates, proteins are found in almost all foods.

Be aware, however, that not all sources of protein are the same. When you’re trying to loose wieght, strive to obtain the majority of your protein from foods such as fish, poultry, eggs, cheese, nuts and lean red meat. The recommended amount of protein intake daily is roughly .35 g of protein per pound of body weight.

It’s often surprising that your body needs 20% to 35% of its daily calories from fat. Just remember that there are different types of fat. Also strictly limit the types of food that contain more harming fat varieties. Foods such as processed meats, butter, lard, cream, whole milk dairy products, ice cream, and many processed grain foods contain what is known as saturated fat.

Saturated fat is very harmful to your body because it can build up in your arteries. That can contribute to a number of diseases. It is recommended that no more than 10% of your calories come from saturated fats. Trans-fats are even more harmful. The current recommendation for intake of trans-fats is zero. To achieve a good balance of fat in your diet, include foods such as peanuts, walnuts, almonds, avocado, olive oil, salmon and other fatty fish, and sunflower oils.

Remember that you should always consult your doctor before changing your diet or embarking on any eating plan.

Apple iPhone 3G S spreads across to another network

Posted by Sarah on Jan 21, 2010 in Fine Articles

The long lasting exclusivity on O2 has now come to an end as Apple seal a deal with Orange. Comparing the two network’s offers and prices, Orange seems to offer a better deal to the keen texter. Choose any Apple iPhone on any tariff and with £7.50 extra you could have unlimited texts to any network. Our favourite deal is the Apple iPhone 3G S 16GB White on the tariff OragneiPhone 35 + £7.50 for the unlimited texts.

They have over and over again proved to be the best when it comes down to producing a touch screen multipurpose mobile phone. The screen sensitivity is bang on perfect, the application launch times are next to nothing, the web page rendering delays are also next to nothing. It is ram packed with excellent features. It is equipped with an amazing 3.2 megapixel camera. Do not be put off by its average number of pixels. The quality of the photos that can be taken is by far the best and out shines other cameras, which even have a greater resolution.

This is by far one of the most powerful inventions in the mobile phone industry, and continues to outclass any new models produced by the other big guns. To top off this amazing piece of technology, many programmers and developers have coded the most amazing, technical, beneficial, amusing applications for the iPhone, mostly of which are not available on any other mobile make. Now many people here would think that it would not be user friendly as it is a very complicated piece of engineering. It may have been very complicated to design, manufacture and test, but the fact that still remains is that the Apple iPhone is probably one of the most user-friendly devices in the mobile phone market. It is no doubt an astonishing mobile phone.

Some of you may have also heard that the mobile phone will be available on Vodafone sometime next year. Vodafone has planned to release the Apple iPhone on their network early in 2010. Good news for all of the Vodafone lovers out there. However the question still remains; Will the deal from Vodafone be cheaper than those on Orange and O2? Or will there be extra benefits and services in comparison to the other 2 major networks. It is only a matter of time until we all find out for ourselves.

For those who have an Apple Mac can enjoy the iPhone 3G S to it’s full potential. Synchronising a mac with an iPhone can be done with simple click of a button or more correctly with a single touch of a screen. And what’s more is that you can use your iPhone to control software on your mac, a bit like a remote. If you are very clever and or lucky, you can easily develop your own application, which you can use to access your mac using your Apple iPhone with just a simple Internet connection.

In conclusion we believe that the Apple iPhone will continue to dominate the touch screen market for years to come. Grab yourself one now. For those who hate having their mobile phones locked to a network, a SIM Free Apple iPhone is an existing solution.

How to get free quotes from moving companies

Posted by Sarah on Jan 21, 2010 in Fine Articles

It’s time to move..

What are your options here? Well, obviously you have those choices:

  1. Hire a moving company to do the move for you
  2.

  3. Rent a truck/van and hire helpers to load/unload
  4.

  5. Rent a truck/van and load everything by yourself plus familiy/friends
  6.

  7. One more option that we discuss later.
  8.

The most obvious (and most expensive, too) is to hire a moving company. Our website will help you to get free moving quotes from moving companies in your area to get the best deal on moving with professional movers.Pros:

By hiring professional moving company get a load of work off your shoulder. Your stuff will be professionally packed, loaded to a truck, driven to the new home, unloaded and unpacked.

Cons:

Moving company can be very expensive. Do a good research by first getting multiple moving quotes. Do a good due diligense about a moving company you want to hire, once the price is something you can go with. Find out about a moving company in Better Business Bureau, check if the moving company has complains and how they response to their complains. Make sure that you’re getting a flat rate from a moving company and check what is included in the estimate. Double check if packing materials are included, and if not, try to pack as much as possible by yourself. However, some fragile stuff needs to be packed by the moving company, otherwise they may void insurance on the items that not packed by the moving company
