There are actually different kinds of soap making processes. These are the cold process, hot process and the melt & pour process. There are certain advantages and disadvantages that these methods have. The cold process is done by slightly melting the mixture to liquefy it and maintain it at that temperature. The hot process of soap making involves heating the soap mixture to a higher temperature. For the melt & pour process, there is a pre-made mixture which is melted and poured into the mold.

What makes this activity very appealing for the people is the fact that you can personalize your soaps. There are so many additives that you can add to your soap so that you can enjoy using them. You can add color, fragrance, moisturizers, exfoliants and a lot more. Just be creative when it comes to making your soaps. Soap making is actually fun but as with all good things, you need to take precautionary measures. Handling lye is needs to be done very carefully. These can corrode your skin and other materials needed for soap making. Always be aware of the dangers of lye when making soap. You should be careful everytime your add lye to cold water, mixing the mixture and even pouring it. The mere contact on your skin can really be very dangerous so make sure that you wear gloves all the time.
