La Digue Island

Posted by Sarah on Oct 9, 2009 in Fine Articles

If it were for sale, La Digue would attract keen competition from the world’s billionaires. This is an enchanting tropical paradise. The fourth-largest island in the Seychelles, La Digue extends to an area of 10 sq km and lies to the east of Praslin Island.

It supports a population that used to survive on fishing, copra and vanilla production, but nowadays tourism is the name of the game and the whole island is geared to providing a memorable holiday experience. There are several hotels and guest-houses that offer simpler accommodation and it’s also possible to see this magical place by making a day trip from nearby Praslin.

The beaches, especially Anse Source d’Argent and Anse Pierrot, are fabulous, often set off by tumbled rock formations that seem like dramatic granite sculptures. There are plenty of hidden coves to discover, too.

Getting around is a matter of foot or pedal power, as there are few vehicles and the locals use ox-drawn carts, which perfectly match the unchanging pace of island life.

Focal points are the harbour at La Passe on the west coast and L’Union Estate where traditional activities like copra production and boat building are still practised. A working vanilla plantation welcomes visitors.

La Digue’s interior rises to Eagle’s Nest Mountain (also known as Belle Vue), a peak that is 300 m (985 ft) above sea level and rewards the active visitor with wonderful views.

The densely forested Veuve Nature Reserve occupies much of the interior, and there are picturesque swamps, pools and inlets.

How to Make an Aloe Vera Juice Drink

Posted by Sarah on Oct 9, 2009 in Fine Articles

Before you can make your Aloe Vera Juice drink you need to prepare the Aloe Vera.If you don’t you could get more than you bargined for as the sap of Aloe Vera is a very potent laxative.

New leaves grow from the centre upward so it is best to leave the fresh, young leaves be which are located on the top of the plant, and just cut the older, outer leaves.

The aloe vera leaf consists of rind containing sap, the latex layer containing its bitter juice, and the gel layer which is a rich source of over 200 naturally occurring nutritional substances.

Peel off the skin from aloe vera. Try not to get the yellow latex juice on your clothes as it will stain. The easiest way to avoid this is to wash the aloe under running tap water until it is clear and transparent. Cut into cubes.

For every 3 cups of 100% Aloe Vera Gel, add 1 teaspoon of vitamin C powder to stabilise and blend at low speed. Store in a covered glass container in your refrigerator. It is best to make smaller amounts regularly as the Aloe Vera in this unpreserved state will lose its effectiveness quickly.

Start by mixing 2 tablespoons daily with water or your favourite fruit juice (This will help to disguise the gooey texture and makes it easier to swallow). Slowly increase number of tablespoons of Aloe Vera Gel until you get a loose poo. When this happens cut back 1/2 tablespoon and this will be your saturation point.

Taking 100% pure Aloe Vera Juice drink regularly, is the most effective way to reap the medicinal benefits of Aloe Vera.

Aloe is a Powerful Detoxer

If you experience loose bowels, cramps, zits or headaches rejoice the Aloe Vera Juice drink is doing what it does best. Getting rid of the stored waste.

What to do if you Detox

Firstly make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Then decide whether you want to tough it out - symptoms will normally only last for 3 or 4 days at most. Or you could cut down what you were taking by 50%. Or you could stop altogether until symptoms subside and then start again on 50% of what you were taking and slowly increase until get a loose poo.

Drinking an Aloe Vera Juice drink is okay for children of all ages. Just start with smaller amounts and watch for signs of detoxing.

Get Rid of Hemorrhoids In Two Weeks

Posted by Sarah on Oct 9, 2009 in Fine Articles

Practically no one wants to talk about hemorrhoids. Neither does anyone want to have them. However, if you have hemorrhoids you really need to find out what to do about them.

When you search for info about the problem you will find tons of potions, ointments, creams and potions that offer relief. When you try them you soon find out that many don’t work at all. Those that do work are only effective for a day or so and then you have to buy it and apply it again.

You really need a hemroid cure that is not a continuing series of short-term fixes, but an actual, permanent cure.

To get the most effective external hemorroinds treatments you should concentrate on finding the root cause and remove or change those causes at the source. If you only focus on quick immediate relief, you will probably find it, but the underlying problem will still be there, ready to cause another flare-up.

Hemorrhoids really aren’t contagious! They are not an infectious disease, they are brought on by lifestyle and environmental factors! You get hemorrhoids for certain reasons of lifestyle and how you treat yourself. If you change these causative factors, you go a very long way towards getting rid of the problem they permit/cause.

Physicians and Drugists will gladly “treat” you, for as long as you keep paying them. No one but you is as interested in actually curing hemorrhoids, once and for all time, as you are. It’s your body, your life. Take charge! Don’t settle for second best!

You can have your hemorrhoids healed once and for all if you look for for that kind of solution and avoid getting “suckered into” paying for solutions that offer only short term relief, that you have to buy over and over again.

Clever Tips For Lowering Your Auto Insurance Premium

Posted by Sarah on Oct 9, 2009 in Fine Articles

Most people feel that they would rather avoid the topic of car insurance. This can usually conjure thoughts of a large monthly fee, and lots of fine print. Luckily there are ways and means of obtaining a lower insurance premium, without having to take out the lowest coverage possible.

Firstly, if you are still looking at which car to purchase, take the time to consider the impact on your premium that your choice of car will have. Most cars are rated by insurance companies according to their history of accidents and theft. Vehicles that are notorious for being a high theft risk and which are known for being involved in accidents will be more expensive to insure. Some vehicles that have been tested and are known to have increased safety features will also be cheaper to insure.

Think about the amount of time you spend on the road. Stop driving unnecessarily! The less time you spend on the road, the more you lower your chances of being involved in a collision. Getting involved in car pooling could also save you a lot of money on petrol, and will lower your risk of being involved in an accident. There are auto insurance companies that offer insurance on a pay as you drive basis, which means that the less you drive, the less you pay. This can be a good incentive for cutting back on your mileage and thus protecting the environment whilst lowering your chances of having an accident!

Another option to look at is to combine your insurance policies under one company. Some insurance companies will offer discounts to clients who put their health, life and household content insurance under them. You can find out what sort of deal you would get if you added your motor insurance to the policy.

Remember to get your hands on as many quotes as possible. The more quotes you have to choose from, the more informed your decision.
