When you’re initially diagnosed as having diabetes and start learning about counting calories and what types of food you must consume and what kinds of food you certainly have to avoid, it can all be very confusing. The most effective way to sort out this confusion is to sit with with a diabetic diet sheet and plan out your meals. If you don’t want to do that  and often it can be quite tough ], you can carry a diabetic diet sheet with you and fill it in as you eat.

One of the toughest things, naturally, is knowing the calorie count for each meal or snack. You can look on the packaging, of course, but sometimes it’s very hard to determine if you’re eating a complete portion of something. If you’re eating in a cafe, you can usually ask an employee to find calorie information for you, but occasionally they do not have that information available. In that case, you may want to go online to find the information. Most restaurants [ especially fast food restaurants ] have full nutritive info available on their sites. You can fill in your diabetic diet sheet using this info. As you continue to adjust to your new diabetic diet, you will eventually know the dietary information of plenty of your favourite meals. You may even get into an eating habit where you don’t even need a diabetic diet sheet. However, it never wounds to have one on hand in in case you need to record your daily intake.
