Kitchen Apron
How many parents have enjoyed watching their children intently painting or sculpting clay to create curious treasures for mum and dad? Actually a lot of children make these things at school and bring them home. A trait these children share is that majority of them will wear an apron.
Children’s activities sometimes make a big mess, so a child’s apron comes in very handy. An apron that is the best for children, is one that will pull over the head and then tie it to their back. A different variety goes over the head , have a front and back, and fasten at the sides, which has the benefit of covering more of your child.
There are many different designs and styles of aprons for kids. Making it yourself is most cost effective. An apron has to be one of the easiest sewing tasks you could undertake, you can conjure up quite a unique project and personalize it to your own child. Child aprons can be decorated in a variety of ways: your child’s handprints and name can be printed on it, or even their favorite nursery rhyme, or a picture of their most cherished Disney character. You do not need to be the artist, most craft shops sell transfers or prints that you can apply to the finished apron to give it that personal ‘touch’.
Also there are times when your small child begs to aid you in the kitchen. That’s when you really need an apron! Actually, the entire kitchen should have an apron! But really occasionally it’s a good idea to stay quiet at times like these and just put on a kitchen apron and start cooking.
Most good chefs on the TV are men, and it is a great area for boys or girls. For boys, choose a character he likes such as a picture of ‘Shrek’ on his apron, but for girls, anything that is ‘girly’ is just perfect. Regardless of the situation, make sure an apron is available for your child should he become untidy.
